In a Scrum project, the Product Owner is responsible for the success of the project. He/She constitutes the interface between customer and developer team, he/she orchestrates the development (and prioritization) of the requirements (= user story) and ensures that the product backlog (= summary of requirements and work results) remains up-to-date. The product owner also creates the release plan.
