Tim Berners-Lee is a co-founder of the World Wide Web, he invented among others HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), the transfer protocol HTTP and the first web server. In addition to various professorships (Harvard, MIT), he is a board member of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), which he himself founded in 1994.

Today, the inventor of the Internet, Tim Berners-Lee, sees the open and free web endangered, threatened by data abuse, disinformation, hate speech, discrimination against women and censorship. He is therefore passionately committed to "fix" the Internet and he promotes this idea around the globe. I was lucky enough to meet him at the hub.berlin in April 2019, and a few months later again at the Digital X in Cologne.
